Can I offer tips under my Tipster Homepage on other sports? top

No, Tipsters are generic to a single sport only . There are several reasons behind this. The Tip Exchange wants to ensure the Subscriber is getting what they expect from their Tipster and not selections that could cover any sport. Lastly The Tip Exchange believes to be a serious Tipster you need to specialise on one sport.

Can I have multiple Tipster accounts? top

Yes, Tipsters can sign up to The Tip Exchange as often as they like using the one Tips and Form account. How many Subscribers am I likely to get too my tipping service? top

There is no answer to this question. The number of subscriptions you may receive will depend on numerous factors. The cost of your Tips is obviously one of the major factors which you need to consider. As the The Tip Exchange is a new concept it may take several months to build your reputation through your tips. During this period you need to remain patience and continue to work hard on your tips in the knowledge that once you have established your results Subscribers will be far more likely sign up to your Tips.

How do I know how many Tips I have sold under my service? top

You will receive an email after you have lodged a Tip confirming that the Tip was paid for. If the Tip is a Winner the Statement will list transaction as a Winning Tip Payment and your balance will increase by the Cost of the Tip.

Tipsters will have no knowledge of a Subscriber buying a Tip prior to the Tipster lodging the Tip. This is important as the Tip Exchange only pays Tipsters for Winning Tips and consequently any knowledge that the next Tip provided by the Tipster is paid for by a Subscriber may influence the odds of the next Tip.

What are my obligations as a Tipster on the Tip Exchange? top

Once you have subscribed to a Tipster The Tip Exchange provides all tips via email. When the Tipster uses the The Tip Exchange to upload his selections the system automatically generates an email providing all the required details of the selection including the odds of the selection the unit value to wager.

How long before the start of an event will I receive my tips? top

The Tip Exchange has built in a cut off of 1 hour before the official start time of the event for tips to be lodged so this is the latest time you might reciece a tip. It will vary depending on the sport being covered by the tipsters as too how much time before the start of the event the tips will be generated. For example Tennis tips may come out closer to the 1 hour cut off of the match because the match up is unknown prior to the draw taking its course whereas tips on AFL or Rugby League would generally be available along time prior to the 1 hour cut off as the fixtures are known well in advance.

I did not receive any Tip from my Tipster? top

If you purchase a Tip from a Tipster and do not receive this Tip within 14 days you will receive a full refund of the Tip Cost.

The odds on a Tip are not available? top

In fixed price sports betting prices are variable in terms of availability and if a price is available at a betting company one minute there is nothing to stop that price being changed the next. When providing a Tip the Tip Exchange platform uses an xml feed to control the odds available for the Tipster to select. When the Tipster made his selection the odds were available but may have since changed

I was not given 1 Hour from receiving my Tip to the start of the event? top

Please provide us with the details involved. It may be that we had an incorrect close time in the system causing this problem. Requests for a refund of Tip Cost would be considered in such circumstances and would be dealt with on a case by case scenario.

Only people who have paid for these Tips and the Tipster himself can see Tips in the Current Tip section.

Explain the Tipster Leaderboards? top

Tipster tables are how The Tip Exchange organise and display the Tipsters on the site. On the front page of the The Tip Exchange is the Leaderboard which show the Tipsters that have the best record with the tables arranged the order of units won. To view the Leaderboard for any individual sport simply click on the sport name and the exchange will display the Leaderboard for the sport. In the tables you will find important information which you can use to analysis and compare Tipsters. Tips gives you the number of TIps a Tipster has placed. This becomes important when looking at the robustness of a Tipsters results obviously the more Tips the Tipster has provided the more reliable or robust the results. Wins gives the number of winning Tips provided by the Tipster. Strike Rate gives the percentage of winners from all Tips provided. Unit Profit shows the value in units that the Tipster has achieved by multiplying Unit Profit by the value of your unit under your staking plan would give you a profit value.

How can I trust the results posted on the The Tip Exchange? top

You can have 100% confidence in the results displayed on our website. The programming on the The Tip Exchange is designed so that Tipsters have until 1 hour prior to the events official start time to upload their selections. The exchange no longer displays the event for the tipster to enter his tips once the event is 1 hour from this official starting time. This enables The Tip Exchange to guarantee tips are being placed prior to the event and consequently the results on the exchange are transparent and trustworthy.

Why do Sports on the Tip Exchange close 1 hour before the official scheduled start time? top

It is simple, as a Tipster your information is only valuable if your Subscribers have sufficient time to co ordinate receiving your tip and the place a corresponding wager. The 1 hour cut off was the time the Tip Exchange decided as reasonable for Subscribers to take action prior to an event starts.

When are the tipping Leaderboards updated? top

The Tip Exchange will make every effort to process results of events within 24 hours of the events completion. Upon resulting events the tipping tables are automatically updated.

What is Insurance? top

Insurance is provided to all Subscribers on the Tip Exchange. A Tipsters role is to provide subscribers profitable betting propositions for their investment. The Insurance is provided by the Tip Exchange as who dont believe Tipsters deserve your money if they have not produced positive results for you the Subscriber. What are Unit Values? top

A unit value is the amount of money you risk when betting. It is an excellent way to compare tipsters across different types of sports and bet types. When using units tipsters can advise the level of investment by the unit value suggested which is a basic staking plan. Stacking plans can enhance the profits of tipsters selections and it is an indicator as too the rating of the bet.

How do I decided what monetary value to assign to a unit value? top

Generally your unit value is determined by your bank which is the total amount of money available to you to wager. As an example, if your bank is $1000 you may wish to allocate $50 or 5 percent per unit stake. Alternatively you may just nominate a value per unit taking into consideration the number of unit bets your tipster is recommending and the frequency of the bets.

What is Return On Investment? top

Return On Investment (ROI) is calculated by dividing the total profit made by the money risked in order to make the profit. For example you back Tiger Woods to win the Masters at $3 with a one unit of investment. Your unit value is $100. If the bet wins you have a return on investment of 200% and your $100 made you $200 profit.

How is profit calculated on the The Tip Exchange? top

For most Tips this question is very simple. Your profit is your unit value times the odds of the selection minus one. Your loss on the flip side of this is your unit value.

The following should take you through the various calculations and provisions when determining Profit(P) and Loss (L) levels on Tips on the The Tip Exchange.

Profit (P)
Loss (L)
Odds (O)
Units (U)
Sports Tips

Win Profit = U * (O -1), Loss = U

Example: A punter backs a selection in a sporting event with a bookmaker for 1 Unit at odds of $9.0.

Win Profit = 1.0 *(9.0-1) = 8.0 Units
Selection Loss = 1 Units

Racing Tips

When a Tipster provides a selection on Horse Racing The Tip Exchange will use the official Staring Price (SP) to settle the Tip.

Profit = U * (SP-1), Loss = U

Example: A punter backs a horse with the bookmaker for 2 Units at the SP of $5.0.

Win Profit = 2.0*(5.0-1) = 8 Units
Horse Loss = 2 Units
